Reserved a table for 2 while mentioning my husband's 60th birthday. The lady at the entrance and the service staff both congratulated and there was good champagne from the house. The food was good too, but what really stood out was the super-friendly service, thanks again. That rounded off the day perfectly.

Whenever we come to Münster from Wuppertal, a visit to Gasthaus Leve is inevitable. Wonderful Westphalian specialties and super friendly service. There were five of us - we all ordered different dishes and were "happy" - after dessert at the latest. Just uncovering the beds didn't work

Old venerable inn with a huge menu. Old German ambience, delicious food, very courteous service. I can only recommend it!

Although the place was well filled, the waiters were very nice. The food came quickly and was delicious. The portion was also huge and it tasted very good, highly recommended. Definitely reserve.

The worst service ever, waitress was quite hostile. Whatever I asked she told me to wait and I had impression that I annoy her a lot. Schnitzel was big and tasty but nothing extraordinary.

Otherwise our experience at Gasthaus Leve was really good, but today we were very disappointed. Since it is my mother's birthday today, we decided to go to Gasthaus Leve. Our food came to the table cold. When my already somewhat senile grandmother, she is 90, complained about the quality of the blinds, the waitress gave a justification, which resulted in shining a flashlight on the food to assess the quality of the blinds . The laughter from the next table was totally embarrassing to us. In addition, the waitress tipped over an almost full bottle of Coke and did not replace it. The sauerkraut and red cabbage tasted like they were canned. We were there at 4 p.m. at a time when there weren't many guests. Nonetheless, we can expect the food to be served to us in decent condition with polite service, especially considering the prices. We have always enjoyed eating there, but after the current situation this establishment has lost us as a customer. best regards

We spent a wonderful evening in this wonderful traditional inn: delicious hearty, but not clumsy Westphalian dishes, tasty freshly tapped beer - everything was enjoyed in impressive historical rooms. With the best: a really amiable female service, who turned to us tirelessly despite the hustle and bustle, and an attentive, committed boss.

The food is incredibly delicious every time! I think the prices are very cheap for the quality of the food. I often order a shank of lamb. There is a lot of meat on it and including side dishes for just 16 euros. A very large and very tasty pork knuckle including side dishes for just 18 euros. You get full every time. The charm of the inn also fits the name completely. Very cozy and old German furnishings. Even the waitresses wear matching uniforms. Simply an all-round great restaurant!

Thank you for a nice evening in the historic hall, the atmosphere is great! The service is very friendly from reception to the table, which we (we were 3 of us) had fun. The selection of beers is great. When it comes to the dishes, nothing is left to be desired, from small to large, fish / meat / vegetarian - that was a nice culinary journey. See you next time!

This is a very nice traditional German restaurant. I was able to find lots of food choices in Westfalia style, that I really enjoyed. Also local beers (Pinkus) and Sasse Lagerkorn were a treat! Service was amazingly good, everything was just perfect.

Typical German eating house with a good traditional menu. You get a lot for your money and it's good. It has a nice traditional atmosphere. I liked it!

Overall, very traditional German meal. Our waiter was nice and made an effort to help us understand the menu even though we spoke no German. The food was a solid B+ and atmosphere was an A.

Always full, reservations are highly recommended. Very worth to wait if no reservation was done. Personal will offer youu great beer sorts at the bar. Kitchen is great!!

Probably book in advance if you don't want to wait in crowded bar with minimal standing space, but it's part of the experience. The staff waiting tables were extremely busy. Our waitress was unfriendly to the point that it was funny but it was all part of the experience too, so no star lost for that. The food and desserts were excellent and big portions too so 5 stars for that too, however my issue with the restaurant was that the English menu is 4 pages shorter than the German menu. We kept a German menu when our server reluctantly grabbed the English ones for us and there are far fewer items on the English, which was strange. Still a great restaurant and would recommend anyone to go for a traditional Westphalian experience

Great place to experience an authentic German Gasthaus. The menu can be a challenge as it's hard to translate, but the staff is more then willing to help you with your choice.
